Lyme Disease UK provides patient support and advice
Walk and fundraise for Lyme Disease UK
Walking and hiking challenges provide great opportunities to fundraise for charities and make a real difference to people’s lives. They’re also an empowering way to get out and explore, improve your health and fitness, boost your mood and make new friends!
There are many walking and hiking events covering a variety of distances across the UK, suitable for different fitness levels and preferences. If you’re thinking of putting yourself to the test, we’d be so grateful if you would consider walking to fundraise for Lyme Disease UK!

Supporting Lyme disease patients
Fundraising allows us to continue to raise awareness about the risk of Lyme disease, how to prevent new cases, and the need for improved testing and treatment options, particularly for later-stage disease. We support the Lyme community in the following ways.
Running our annual awareness campaign.
Sharing information about tick-borne illness via our website and social media.
Operating a support email service for those concerned about Lyme disease.
Creating resources that explain the risk of tick bites and Lyme disease.
Offering an online forum for patients to support each other.
Providing free Lyme Connect support webinars for chronic Lyme patients.
Organising online seminars with professionals on key topics.
Raising awareness at public events where possible.
Organising occasional in person events.
An experience to remember
Walking challenges can provide a huge sense of accomplishment and often create great memories for everyone involved. There’s usually a wonderful atmosphere as family, friends and local people come together to offer their support.
One of our recent fundraisers, Sue Jones, described her experience of walking 46 miles in the Rotary Across Wales Walk.
“The support from the local people was tremendous… The landscape is stunning. The companionship of fellow walkers helps you cope with the aches and pains and any self-doubt. The welcome arriving in Montgomery was extraordinary!”
