We were recently delighted to receive a National Lottery Community Fund Award to continue LDUK Connect, a series of free monthly support webinars for the Lyme disease community and their loved ones.
Facilitated by patient advocate and author Morven-May MacCallum, these interactive online sessions give opportunity for those affected to come together, discuss their experiences, and encourage each other as they tackle life with Lyme.

LDUK Connect provides much needed support for the Lyme disease community who often receive limited understanding elsewhere, and will be particularly valuable during upcoming colder months, when grey skies and seasonal infections commonly take a toll.
These webinars can provide a lifeline for those struggling to cope, and particularly for those affected by later-stage disease. Sessions will sensitively tackle key issues faced by patients and their loved ones. These include:
- difficulties often experienced in gaining an accurate diagnosis and accessing effective medical care;
- the physical, neurological and mental health effects of Lyme disease (directly or indirectly);
- relationship challenges;
- fertility and parenting challenges;
- pressures on carers; and
- financial pressures, including decisions affecting treatment options.
If you are a Lyme disease patient or have been affected by Lyme disease and are in need of support from others who understand the challenges you face, please don’t hesitate to reach out to LDUK and the Lyme disease community.
