Lyme Disease UK is celebrating after receiving a Benefact Group’s £1,000 Movement for Good Award, thanks to heartfelt nominations from the public. Benefact Group’s annual campaign gives over £1 million to charities and good causes across the UK.
This generous award will help LDUK to continue to spread awareness about the importance of protecting against tick bites to prevent infection, and what to do next in the event of a bite.

“We are so grateful to receive a Benefact Group’s £1,000 Movement for Good Award and wish to thank everyone who recognises the importance of our work and decided to nominate us.
Lyme Disease UK is committed to spreading awareness about the importance of tick bite prevention to reduce cases of Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections, as well as improving the lives of patients in the UK by offering information and support.
This award will allow us to print and send more awareness materials to the many organisations that reach out to us, such as the Scouts, Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE), the military, and walking groups, for example.
Our information gives clear advice on how to reduce the risk of a tick bite, how to safely remove ticks, and what to do next following a bite. Ensuring early treatment with appropriate antibiotics if infected is very important to prevent the disease from spreading throughout the body when it can become much harder to treat.”

More about Movement for Good Awards
Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards will offer £1,120,00 to help charities change lives for the better in 2025. Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc (part of Benefact Group).
- £350,000 will be donated in £1,000 grants throughout the year. The £1,000 awards are open to all UK-registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, or community interest companies. Anyone can nominate at any time for the chance to receive £1,000.
- £200,000 will be donated in £5,000 special grants over the year.
- £400,000 will be donated in larger amounts over the year.
- £120,000 will be distributed in December as part of the 12 Days of Giving initiative.
- £50,000 has been allocated for charities in an exciting, new initiative called Pay It Forward.
