Luke Roberts’ Epic Skydive

It’s been a busy Lyme Disease Awareness Month and we’ve been blown away by your support!

So many of you have shared our awareness posts on social media, ordered our leaflets and tick cards in the post, and set up fabulous fundraisers!

In fact, we have tallied up a total of six new fundraisers, which surely has to be a record for us during one month!

It is so wonderful to see you believing in us and all the hard work we do behind the scenes!

All of us at the charity have been affected by Lyme disease in some way, so it’s a personal cause to us, and truly, we couldn’t be more grateful! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!

The latest fundraiser, which we’re absolutely thrilled to announce, comes from Luke Roberts, who has decided to take on a skydive in support of his loved one, Emily Pell, who is battling Lyme! How brave is that?

Luke recently explained to us why he’s decided to take on this incredible feat: “I’ve decided to do this challenge because a very important person to me is suffering with Lyme and I know for her, it’s been a real struggle. I have an understanding that Lyme is quite an unknown disease and there’s very little knowledge about it within the UK healthcare system. Although I don’t suffer with it personally, I want to do my part in raising awareness.”

Emily also told us: “I’m so happy we can help! I wish I could jump out of a plane for LDUK, but I’m too poorly! It’s massively affected my life and Luke is amazing for doing it. I hope to raise as much as I can for LDUK throughout my journey, as you are my favourite charity!”

Such lovely words from both, and we feel truly honoured! So please everyone, get behind this wonderful pair and donate whatever you can via Luke’s fundraising page!

If Luke’s act of courage has left you feeling inspired, you can also find many other ideas for fundraising here!
