Tick Bite Prevention Week kicks off today and runs from 20-24 March!
This important awareness week is timed to perfection as we enter spring, which is peak tick bite season.
During the course of this week, we will be sharing tips on social media to explain how you can take precautions against being bitten by ticks. We would be grateful if you could help us to raise awareness by sharing our daily posts!
One of the most effective ways you can avoid tick bites is by applying repellent. With this in mind, we’re thrilled to announce that Botanic Protect tick repellent is our campaign partner for Lyme Disease Awareness Month 2023!
We are delighted to be working with Botanic Protect to prevent tick bites and raise awareness of Lyme disease across the UK. Botanic Protect helps to do this by offering trusted product information and advice that is 100% specific to ticks.
Botanic Protect is a plant-based tick repellent which is suitable for all the family (including babies from 6 months old). It is DEET-free and made of a high quality repellent ingredient that is kind to the skin.
Suzanne Higginson, Managing Director of Botanic Protect, recently shared with us why she decided to start a tick repellent business:
“The idea came about after a family holiday to the New Forest. I went online to buy a family-friendly tick repellent, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be! I decided to develop my own repellent that ‘ticked’ all the right boxes, and following 18 months of meticulous research, I launched Botanic Protect! Two years on and I’m very proud to be a trusted supplier to outdoor-loving families, forest schools, and organisations across the UK, including The Woodland Trust.”
Asked why she wanted to partner with LDUK, Suzanne replied: “I was so excited when LDUK confirmed they wanted to partner with Botanic Protect for their flagship campaign, ‘Wake Up To Lyme’! Behind the scenes at LDUK is an inspirational team who work tirelessly to raise awareness about Lyme disease and tick bite prevention, something I also feel passionately about. I am honoured that Botanic Protect is able to support their great work this year and I can’t wait to get stuck into the campaign..!”
Botanic Protect is available to purchase online and we are thrilled that Suzanne will kindly be donating 50p to us from every sale of repellent.
Apply discount code ‘LDUK’ at checkout and you will also receive 10% off Botanic Protect tick repellent until 2024. Tick removers are also available to purchase.
