LDUK’s Community Outreach Manager, Julia Knight, was delighted to be invited by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust to present a Lyme disease awareness talk to staff at the Slimbridge Wetland Centre on 9th September.
It is always rewarding to talk to groups of people who need to be tick aware for their work and for whom tick bite prevention is essential.
The talk also covered what to do if a person gets bitten and the symptoms to look out for after a tick bite that might indicate Lyme disease.
Thank you to Suzanne Higginson of Botanic Protect (LDUK’s campaign partner for 2022), who organised the talk and gave an excellent overview of her company’s tick repellent at the end!
