Lyme Disease UK are very excited to introduce our new branding! Our previous logo was kindly designed by a member of our Online Community and we had been using it since 2013, along with the lime green colour, but we’ve just celebrated our second year as an official charity and now felt like the right time for a makeover.
At this time of year, the Charity is gearing up for our annual Wake up to Lyme campaign which runs throughout Lyme disease awareness month.
Usually, we ask members of our Online Community and the public to distribute awareness packs, containing leaflets and posters, in public places but due to the pandemic, our 2021 campaign will be purely online. We felt a rebrand would be an exciting way to kick off awareness month and to give Lyme Disease UK an updated look for the charity’s next chapter.
Our previous logo featured the Union Jack flag highlighting our UK base, but our cause is far reaching and we felt this image to be outdated.
Our new logo features our name and acronym, with some tall grass harbouring ticks which better fits our identity.
We’ve also updated our colour palette utilising softer shades of green. Although we loved how the lime green popped, we know that it was not the most user-friendly shade and the brightness of it was an issue for some. We’re confident that the gentler greens will be a welcome change for our audience. We hope that the new logo will spark further conversations about Lyme disease and remind people to be tick aware when out in nature.
We have revamped our website in line with the new branding providing a more modern look and feel, whilst improving the user experience.
The biggest change you’ll notice is on our homepage, but our site map has also been improved so it’s now easier to locate information. We have new imagery and every page has been edited to provide a better reading experience. We’d love to hear your thoughts on our new look, drop us a line at awarness@lymediseaseuk.com with any feedback you’d like to share.
Stay tuned for information on how you can get involved with our 2021 Wake Up to Lyme campaign and as always, we’re grateful for anything you can do to support us.
