LDUK Awareness Talks

Lyme Disease UK’s #WakeUptoLyme awareness talks are becoming increasingly popular which is great for sharing Lyme disease prevention tips, tick removal techniques and other important information with a wider audience. More people are taking to the outdoors during lockdown and enjoying the countryside for walking, jogging, cycling and other recreational activities.

It’s so important for people to be tick aware, especially as ticks are active all year round.

Julia Knight, LDUK’s Press and Community Outreach Manager, presented the first #WakeUptoLyme online webinar to the Fleet Branch U3A Health and Wellbeing group last year and it was so successful that attendees contacted us to book in further talks with other groups they are members of.

LDUK was invited to present at the St John’s Ambulance Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Conference 2020 to help equip the DofE leaders with the knowledge and awareness to prevent tick bites and Lyme disease.

Over 100 people attended this session! Forthcoming sessions include diverse organisations such as the The Firefighters Charity Living Well Groups for retired firefighters, Compassworks, an organisation that provides navigation and first aid courses, and the Rotary Club of Andover.

If you think a #WakeUptoLyme awareness talk might benefit your organisation or community group, please contact us at media@lymediseaseuk.com and we’ll happily book in a date for you!
