We are delighted to announce that Lyme Disease UK is now a registered charity (1182212), thanks to all the hard work of our volunteers and generous donations from the Lyme community, general public and sponsors.
Some of the benefits of this exciting development are that we can receive gift aid on eligible private donations and corporate donations can be tax-deductible. Our Charity Constitution can be read here.
At this stage, nothing will change in the day-to-day operation of LDUK. Our focus will remain on patient support and raising awareness. You may notice that patient grants and research funding are included in our Constitution and these are things we are hoping to provide in the future when we have raised sufficient funds.
LDUK operates entirely independently and has never donated to or received funds from any other charity or organisation, with the exception of sponsors of our awareness campaign, organisations who have held public fundraisers for us, advertisers and affiliates – all of which are declared. All trustees and volunteers remain unpaid.
Thank you for all of the dedicated work everyone has put in to allow LDUK to achieve charity status. We are excited about the next chapter for our organisation and community.
If you wish to make a donation to support LDUK, you can do so here.
We are always looking for additional volunteers so if you’d like to get involved, please email admin@lymediseaseuk.com
Best wishes,
The LDUK Team
