“My journey started in 2010. I was a very healthy, super fit 28 year old and my life changed almost overnight. Symptom after symptom started to come at me from everywhere and I was consumed by pain and fatigue. I was told that I had ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and a long while later, Lyme disease. Over the past six years, I’ve tried countless remedies and treatments, both pharmaceutical and naturopathic and I’d say that I’m now close to being back to somewhere that resembles my old life. The most important medicine of all was my own mindset. My affirmation was “I’m getting better everyday” and I had to put myself into that place every time a symptom flared up or every time I felt depressed about what I was going through. This song is dedicated to everyone who struggles every day with invisible illness, to everyone who knows that there is something wrong with them but is told that it’s “all in their heads”, to everyone who feels alone and without hope and has to constantly convince the people around them that they aren’t just looking for attention. I hope listening to the song gives people the same feeling of empowerment and hope that I felt writing it.” – Rico Franchi
